- 20. Is reusable equipment disinfected properly?
- Disinfectant Pre-Empt CS20 HLD expired. Write the expiry date on the jugs in large lettering so it is obvious. and put the alarm notifications in your phone a month prior to the expiry date to remind you to re-order new disinfectant. Test strips available. Concentrations to be tested and recorded daily. Operator will use Sani-Cide DIN 02270789 until CS20 is available next week. ENSURE manufacturer's instructions for use are followed. Ensure PREempt manufacturer’s instructions are followed for mixing and contact time. Staff demonstrated processing steps 1) clean instruments using water, detergent, and a brush 2) rinse with water 3) dry thoroughly 4) Fully immerse tools in CS-20 for 20 minutes. 5) rinse tools with water and leave to air dry 6) store disinfected tools in a manner to prevent them from contamination - store outside of sink splash zones.Disinfectant solution must be tested daily and recorded - I will provide you with a log sheet. Even though CS20 has a 14-day re-use you still need to check the concentration daily. All disinfected instruments are covered - store out of splash zone of sink. Disinfected tools are not brought out into the treatment area until the client is seated. Laundry is done on site - all bedding, towels are washed and put through a hot dryer. All massage beds, treatment beds are covered with linens. All linens are removed after each client. Beds are sanitized
- 31. Are sinks accessible and used appropriately for the personal services provided?
- Treatment rooms have hand sinks in place. Hot and cold running water, soap and paper towel. Cloth towels are ONLY permitted if they are single use. Have a supply of freshly laundered towels/facecloths that are protected from contamination and have a hamper to collect used towels. There was a towel on the cupboard door in the north, large treatment room. Operator removed it at the time of the inspection. Paper towels were available.
