- Observation(s): Licensing Officer reviewed the system for ensuring compliance with Residential Care Regulation 49(1) and found it to be ineffective.

- Observation(s): Licensing Officer attempted to review the monthly fire drill logs but they were not recorded as per the policies and procedures. Licensing Officer reviewed progress notes and the system for charting. Examples were found and discussed where staff did not follow the charting policies and procedures.

- Observation(s): Licensing Officer observed a sign indicating electronic surveillance was being used, but it was not posted in a prominent place. This was corrected during the inspection. Licensing Officer observed Tide Pods and cleaning spray not safely and securely stored. This was corrected during the inspection.

- Observation(s): Licensing Officer did not observe a system ensuring compliance with Residential Care Regulation 56(1).

- Observation(s): Licensing Officer observed no documented emergency plans. Licensing Officer observed no policy or procedure to ensure that monthly weights are documented as required.

- Observation(s): Licensing Officer observed the menu which did not contain a breakfast meal.

- Observation(s): Licensing Officer observed no system to monitor the fridge temperatures.

- Observation(s): A sink that was accessible to persons in care was 55 degrees Celsius.

- R5.1 - Does the facility provide food services which meet nutritional needs and preferences for persons in care?
- Observation(s): Licensing Officer observed 4 weeks worth of menus. It was found that some breakfasts and lunches did not contain at least 3 food groups. It was also observed that there was one snack being provided per day (this was partly due to refusals) which often did not contain at least two food groups. Please note that the evening meal would often be served at 1645 rather than after 1700 hours. The Licensee will ensure that evening meals will be served after 1700 hours as per the Legislation.

- Observation(s): The Licensing Officer observed that there was no system in place for the purpose of monitoring the temperatures within the refrigerators.
