- Operator uses distilled water to dilute tattoo ink, however water that is sterile at the point of use is required. Distillation removes chemical contaminants from water, but does not fully remove microbiological contamination. Corrective action: Water that is sterile at the point of use or an alternative mixing agent must be used going forward to dilute tattoo inks.
