- No notification has been made to AHS.- Please submit a Personal Services Notification (PSN).
- 03. Are facility-specific written procedures established to adequately describe safe and sanitary practices?
- The following written procedures were not available to review at the time of the inspection:a. For client care in the event of accidental cut/puncturesb. For cleansing of skin and antisepsisc. For post-care - Please develop all the indicated written procedures.For services that puncture the skin such as tattooing, these written procedures are required.Note:Ensure to provide written after-care instructions to clients so they are aware of how to care for themselves following tattooing.
- 20. Is reusable equipment disinfected properly?
- A bottle of Cavicide was expired. No unexpired bottle was available onsite to replace at the time of inspection.- Please discard and obtain an unexpired one.Ensure that only unexpired products are in use according to manufacturer's instructions.
- 21. Is equipment that is intended to be sterile maintained sterile at the point of use?
- No sterility assurance documentation available to review.- Ensure to complete a sterility assurance documentation for every service and every client, attach the lot number and expiry date as well.Sterility assurance documentation is required for equipment with a sterile claim (needle cartridges). The records must be maintained for a minimum of 2 years.Documentation must include the following: - The name of the client- The contact information of the client - The date of the service - Description of the service - The name of the staff member conducting the service.
- 24. Are waste sharps disposed of properly?
- Sharps container was overfilled, beyond the fill line.- Properly dispose the sharps container and obtain a new one. Ensure to regularly monitor the sharps container and refrain from filling past the fill line, this ensures proper disposal and prevents mishandling of sharps containing biohazards such as blood which can lead to transmission of diseases.
