      • Operator informed PHI that she was using 99% alcohol to reprocess extractors and tweezers once used. Informed that this no longer met requirements, and discussed alternative products to be used. Operator had wipes capable of disinfecting these tools as they are infrequently used, and will be using them moving forward.

      • Written procedures are required for the following:
    • 20. Is reusable equipment disinfected properly?
      • Testing of HLD PREempt CS20 was not occuring daily, despite re-use of HLD for 14 day periods. Should this practice continue (vs. disposing of HLD after every use), test strips specific for the HLD must be purchased, and it must be tested each day it is reused to ensure adequate concentration.
    • 20. Is reusable equipment disinfected properly?
      • Record keeping was not occurring for the reusing of HLD for the 14 day permitted period. Should the practice of reusing HLD wish to be continued, please immediately purchase test strips and use the attached template.
