    • 402 - Critical Employee does not wash hands properly or at adequate frequency [s. 21(3)]
      • Observation: (CORRECTED DURING INSPECTION) Observed an employee handling food at the drive through service after handling money without washing their hands between tasks. (Public Health Significance) Hand washing is an important practice to ensure food are protected from cross contamination from other previously handled foods or contact surfaces/ or items like money.
      • Corrective Action: Ensure adequate frequency of hand washing with soap, hot and cold running water, and hands dried with paper towel must be done between tasks whenever food is handled.

    • 301 - Critical Equipment/utensils/food contact surfaces not maintained in sanitary condition [s. 17(1)]
      • Observation: The facility requires a deep clean including the equipments on premises. Observed sticky food residual accumulating on the sides of pop/ drink dispenser, conditions that may allow breeding of pests (ants).
      • Corrective Action: Increase the frequency of cleanning to prevent pests (ants) from thriving.
    • 304 - Premises not free of pests [s. 26(a)]
      • Observation: Evidence of fire ants were observed on pop dispenser in the serving area. (Public Health Significance) Ants and other pests may cross contaminate foods/drinks and surfaces or contaminate human food with feces and urine, carry parasites and other diseases. Integrated Pest Management (IPM) in place, rentokil visits every month last visit was on Aug 4, statement report states fire ants on pop dispenser. Operator has ceased the use of pop dispenser until issue resolved.
      • Corrective Action: Remove any pest attractants such as food and water, eliminate access to the building and routes they use inside. Trap and remove the pests. The continuous and more frequent use of a professional pest control operator you have in place - rentokil is recommended until the issue is resolved. Clean and sanitize area where droppings are located and monitor situation.
