    • 19. Is ultrasonic cleaning of reusable equipment being performed properly and when necessary?
      • There is no verification step to ensure the ultrasonic cleaner is operating according to the manufacturer's instructions for use. Manual cleaning with detergent and water is strongly advised. No detergent solution is used.
    • 20. Is reusable equipment disinfected properly?
      • Nail instruments are disinfected with a dry heat sterilizer. Please note that dry heat sterilizer is not an approved method for disinfection. Nail instruments are considered semi-critical items which require minimum a high level disinfectant for adequate disinfection.
    • 30. Is the reprocessing area of a personal service facility that uses reusable equipment properly designed, managed and maintained to ensure the safety of clients?
      • The sink in the washroom is intended for cleaning nail instruments; however, the toilet in the same space is designated for client use. Reprocessing areas cannot be located within or adjacent to toilet facilities. Please decommission this setup and restrict its use. You must either provide an alternate washroom for client use or install a dedicated reprocessing sink in a separate, appropriate area.
