    • 03. Are facility-specific written procedures established to adequately describe safe and sanitary practices?
      • The operator must ensure that facility- specific written procedures are established for example client care in the event of an accidental skin cut or puncture, the cleansing of skin and mucous membrane and the application of antiseptic products, etc. Ensure that the facility has written procedures that pertain to the services offered at the home based personal service.
    • 08. Is hand hygiene performed by the personal services worker when required, in a proper manner and are provisions available to perform hand hygiene?
      • 1. Hand sanitizer products on site did not have a visible Drug Identification Number (DIN) or Natural Product Number (NPN), as required for approved disinfectant products.Obtain a hand sanitizer with a DIN or NPN.2. There was no paper towel in the client washroom.Provide paper towel in a dispenser.
    • 21. Is equipment that is intended to be sterile maintained sterile at the point of use?
      • Sterility assurance documentation for microneedling needle cartridges (e.g., packaging with lot number, expiry date,) was not kept with the corresponding client records.Establish a system to reliably collect and maintain sterility assurance documents for all microneedling cartridges used. This system should ensure that packaging details such as lot numbers, expiry dates, are properly recorded and linked to each client’s record.
    • 27. Is the facility maintained in a visibly clean state and are environmental surfaces cleaned and disinfected properly?
      • 1. There was disinfectant for work surfaces. Obtain at least a low-level disinfectant for use on all contact/work surfaces.2. The facility was highly disorganized and cluttered. Tools were not stored properly in a visibly clean manner.Declutter the facility, obtain shelving units to help with storage and ensure tools are stored in a sanitary manner to prevent recontamination.
    • 30. Is the reprocessing area of a personal service facility that uses reusable equipment properly designed, managed and maintained to ensure the safety of clients?
      • Extraction tools such comedone Extractor and loop extractors were observed without a reprocessing sink in the home-based facility.A designated reprocessing sink must be installed and used for the cleaning and high-level disinfection of semi-critical tools such as comedone extractors and loop extractors. Until proper reprocessing facilities are in place, these tools must not be used
