- 1. 70% alcohol wipes were being used to disinfect piercing surfaces and equipment between clients. PHI provided education to operator that alcohol wipes cannot be used as a disinfectant as they have no DIN or disinfectant claim, and the manufacturer's instructions for use do not include use as a surface disinfectant. Lysol wipes (DIN: 02359014) were available on-site for use and operator was directed to use those instead.2. One barbercide solution was observed to contain a significant amount of hair, indicating that combs and brushes were not being adequately cleaned before immersion. Please have all staff review barbercide manufacturer's instructions, and ensure brushes and combs are cleaned before being placed in barbercide to allow for appropriate disinfection to occur.
