      • Used single-use nail files and buffers were observed at some nail stations. The items were discarded during inspection.Ensure used single-use items/tools are discarded immediately after use and not re-used.

      • There was an accumulation of physical debris, such as nail clippings, in the High-Level disinfectant. Ensure that items are fully cleaned prior to submersion in the high-level disinfectant.

      • Some workstations were unclean. Dirt, debris and deposits were observed on surfaces and inside some drawers.There was an accumulation of debris on the cabinets in the reprocessing area. Clean all workstations and drawers and ensure the entire facility is always maintained in a sanitary condition.

      • Facility specific written procedures were not observed. Please create written procedures as it applies to your operations. AHS templates will be sent with this report which can be adopted by the facility.

      • Used single-use nail files and buffers were observed at some nail stations. The items were discarded during inspection.Please ensure used single-use items/tools are discarded immediately after use and not re-used.

      • No disinfectant was observed for disinfecting non-critical surfaces. Surfaces such as client contact surfaces were being disinfected with rubbing alcohol. Obtain a disinfectant to disinfect non-critical surfaces including workstations. Rubbing alcohol is not a disinfectant.

      • Some workstations were unclean. Dirt, debris and deposits were observed on surfaces and inside some drawers.Clean all workstations and drawers and ensure the entire facility is always maintained in a sanitary condition.

      • No high-level disinfectant was observed to disinfect semi-critical tools. Rubbing alcohol was being used to clean tools. The operator accepted to stop operations and obtain a high-level disinfectant alongside the required test strips. Action items:1. Obtain a high-level disinfectant.2. Obtain high-level disinfectant test strips if poured disinfectant will be reused. Poured disinfectant must be tested each day used and records/log sheet kept.3. Ensure all tools previously cleaned with alcohol are disinfected with a high-level disinfectant before use.

      • Porous beddings on the waxing bed were being re-used. The operator was instructed to remove the beddings and ensure bedding are changed after each client. The non-absorbent bed surface must also be disinfected in-between client use.
