      • Pedicure chair surfaces (upholstery) is deteriorating. Corrective Action: - Repair or replace the upholstery to ensure surfaces are smooth, non-porous, and easy to clean.- Alternatively, install covers that meet these criteria.

      • Single-use equipment were being used on more than one client (including files and buffing blocks).Corrective Action:- Advised staff/manager to discard single-use equipment that have been used.- Advised staff/manager to only use single-use equipment on one client moving forward.

      • The glass dishes used for brow aesthetic services were visibly dirty.

      • Reviewed cleaning procedure for pedicure food baths. Disinfection is implemented, however, cleaning was inadequate.Corrective Action:- Educated and advised staff/owner on proper cleaning of pedicure foot baths prior to disinfecting.
    • 20. Is reusable equipment disinfected properly?
      • Corrected During Inspection:1) The high-level disinfectant in use (PREempt CS20) was expired and no alternative was available on site.Corrective Action:- Staff were advised to stop accepting new clients until an appropriate high-level disinfectant was available and it could be confirmed that all equipment on site had been properly disinfected using non-expired high-level disinfectant.- Staff member on shift contacted the owner, who arrived with new non-expired high-level disinfectant (PREempt CS20).- Staff began disinfecting all equipment that may have been disinfected with expired high-level disinfectant (PREempt CS20).2) There was no testing equipment for the high-level disinfectant (PREempt CS20).Corrective Action:- Staff member on shift contacted the owner, who arrived with test strips.3) Records were not being maintained for the high-level disinfectant (PREempt CS20).Corrective Action:- Provided the owner with the AHS Personal Services – High Level Disinfectant Log for use.- Educated owner and staff on how to use this log.

      • The following areas require cleaning:- Wax warmer/holder- Manicure stations (including chairs, desks, and drawers)- Cosmetic product (nail polish) storage cupboard
