- Skin antiseptic product was not used before performing needling procedures.Please note that according to PS standards:2.17 When a personal service involves the puncture of the skin, an antiseptic product must also be applied after skin cleansing.2.18 Antiseptic products must have either a DIN or an NPN issued by Health Canada.2.19 Personal services workers must follow the instructions for use that accompany an antiseptic product
- 12. Are personal services workers at the facility maintaining client records and where applicable, sterility documentation corresponding to that client?
- Operator was maintaining the client record, however the lot number for sterility assurance was not kept with client records.Discussed storing the sterility assurance documentation with client records.
- 20. Is reusable equipment disinfected properly?
- Operator was reusing the pre-empt CS 20 for disinfecting semi-critical tools however the HLD logs were not maintained.Please note that HLD CS 20 can be re-used for 14 days, as per manufacturer's instructions provided that the HLD testing logs are maintained.Template for HLD log will be provided.Based on choice of HLD AHP 7 test strips are required.
