Two units of 5ft tall storage cabinet in the casa Montessori room were not secured to the wall serving as a tipping hazard.**Please secure cabinets to prevent injury to the children**Please ensure all cabinets in the facility above 4ft high are anchored/secured to prevent injury.

The plastic covering for the diaper change mat in the bambini Montessori room was broken, making it hard to clean.**Please replace mats to ensure mats can be adequately cleaned and disinfected.

      • 1. The pressure of the hot water for the hand wash sink in the toddler1 room was low.**Repair plumbing.2. The maximum temperature of the hot water for the hand wash sink in the Bambini Montessori room where children have access to was measured at 61°C.3. The maximum temperature of the hot water for the hand wash sink in the gym washroom where children have access to was measured at 60.8°C.**Regulate hot water temperature that children have access to. Maintain hot water temperature at a recommended maximum temperature of 49 degrees C.

      • The 4ft10" in room 6 was not secured to the wall.**Please secure the cupboard to the wall to prevent a tipping hazard

      • The temperature of the cooler used to store milk in the infant room was measured at 8 degrees C. Milk was moved out to the cooler in the kitchen.**Ensure that all high-risk foods stored in the cooler are held at 4 degrees c and below at all times.

      • The diaper change mats in rooms 2 and 3 were broken and not cleanable.**Please replace the diaper mats to ensure surface can be adequately cleaned and disinfected.

      • In room 7 there were electrical chargers not in use but plugged into the outlet and the electrical cords were easily accessible to the children in the room. Staff removed the chargers.**Ensure that electrical chargers not in use are kept safely away from the children in the facility to prevent electrocution hazards.
    • 06. Are proper protocols being followed in regards to client care?
      • The safety buckle for the elevated diapering station in room 5 was broken.**Please replace safety buckle to ensure child safety during diapering.
    • 18. Is the facility and equipment being maintained in a suitable manner (Non-Critical)?
      • There was large amount of dirt and debris build-up under the mat of the diapering table in room 5.**Ensure that all surfaces are cleaned and disinfected regularly.
    • 22. Is the plumbing system adequate and being properly maintained (Non-Critical)?
      • The hot water in the hand wash sinks in room 7 and Room 8 were measured at 19 degrees C and 17 degrees C respectively.**Ensure that the hand wash sink is equipped with hot water to promote hand hygiene practice.**Maintain hot water temperature at the point-of-use up to the maximum recommended temperature of 49 degrees C.

      • Some sleeping mat coverings in Room 2 were broken and cannot be properly cleaned and sanitized. Operator stated sleeping cots have been ordered and will be replaced.**Please remove/replace damaged sleeping mats.
