    • 24. Is solid and liquid waste being managed in a suitable manner?
      • Garbage was again observed to be left open, some debris was on the ground outside of the bin and fat/oil/grease was pooling in liquid running from the bin. Bin appears to be missing a plug in a hole at the bottom. Lid was closed during the inspection.Ensure the area around the bin is kept in a sanitary condition, free of garbage and liquid waste. Ensure the bin keeps garbage fully contained.

      • Update: Violation still outstanding. The wall panel behind the toilet in the women's washroom, and the wallpaper in the men's washroom on the wall behind the hand sink were peeling. Water can seep behind and bacteria can be trapped in the edges of the wallpaper. Please repair the walls and ensure they are smooth, non-absorbent and easily cleanable.

      • Update: Violation still outstanding. The wall panel behind the toilet in the women's washroom, and the wallpaper in the men's washroom on the wall behind the hand sink were peeling. Water can seep behind and bacteria can be trapped in the edges of the wallpaper. Please repair the walls and ensure they are smooth, non-absorbent and easily cleanable.
    • 24. Is solid and liquid waste being managed in a suitable manner?
      • There are two containers outside, the one used for garbage was overfilled, the lid was left open and could not be closed and the bin has a hole on the side that is leaking fluid. Garbage was also observed on the ground next to, and behind, the bin. Ensure the bins are keeping all garbage contained, fluid isn't leaking onto the ground surface, the lids remain closed and garbage isn't accumulating around or behind the bin.

      • An acid based sanitizer was present for use. No test strips to determine the concentration were present.Please ensure an appropriate test strip is provided for all sanitizers in use, or discontinue use of sanitizer that doesn't have an accompanying test strip.

      • Vents require cleaning of the grates and have not been serviced since April 2024. Ensure vents are serviced and clean.

      • Under counter cooler in kitchen at 11 C. Unit was empty at time of inspection. Have the unit repaired/adjusted or removed if it is unable to maintain 4 C.

      • There is a large accumulation of unused kitchen equipment, work equipment and materials surrounding the building. Please have the area clean and cleared of unnecessary materials prior to opening.

      • Update: operator indicated they will be removing the booth. Black booths have been resurfaced, but corners are not secure, and folds of material can trap dirt. Seating surfaces must be smooth and easy to clean. Please have the material secured in a manner that makes them easy to clean.

      • Update: Ceiling tiles have been removed as well as exposed studs. Women's washroom door has been installed. Wall in bar has been repaired. Still outstanding: There is a hole in the wall in the back area off of the bar. Repair wall in back area, ensuring wall is smooth, non-absorbent and easily cleanable.

      • The pump beneath the bar sink was not working and water was leaking from the unit. Operator rerouted the drain temporarily to a bucket. Hot and cold water under pressure was on to the bar sinks. Ensure grey water is disposed of in the sewage system regularly and have the plumbing system repaired so no water is leaking onto the ground.

      • Flooring has been replaced by mop sink. Some transitions are required where flooring materials change to prevent dirt buildup and tripping hazards. 2. countertop has laminate lifting on edge of outside bar, exposing the subsurface. Repair indicated floor areas, repair countertops so they are impervious to moisture.

      • 1. Some ceiling tiles missing and possible mold present on an exposed stud. Some large ceiling tile surfaces were loose at the far end from the bar area. 2. the women's washroom door was not attached to the hinges. 3. There is a hole in the wall in the back area off of the bar, and there is damage to the bottom corner of the wall in the bar area on the outside wall from the mop sink. Ensure stud is free of mold and ceiling tiles replaced. Ensure all other large ceiling surfaces are fastened securely. Ensure door is fastened securely to prevent it falling on patrons. Repair walls in both areas, ensuring walls are smooth, non-absorbent and easily cleanable.

      • The ceiling of the walk-in cooler is splashed with a substance. Please ensure the ceiling has been cleaned. The facility requires a thorough cleaning prior to opening.
