- 19(1)(e) A food establishment must be located, designed, constructed and maintained to ensure all of the following:
(e) that there is effective protection to prevent the access and sheltering of insects, rodents and other pests.
- In accordance with Section 2.17 of the NS Food Retail and Food Services Code, you must ensure exterior openings are protected against the entry of pests. All exterior doors with gaps or holes must have door sweeps installed. A total of four door sweeps are required. Three doors in the processing building require door sweeps, including the garage door, the door next to the garage, and the office door. The fourth door, located in the main kitchen (the small kitchen across from the fryers), must have the gap sealed.
- 29(2)(b) A maintenance, cleaning and sanitation program must include procedures to ensure that all of the following are done:

- Clean and sanitize all areas affected by mice. Mice droppings were found along the walls in the walk-in cooler used for dry storage in the processing kitchen.

- 19(1)(b) A food establishment must be located, designed, constructed and maintained to ensure all of the following:
(b) that operations are carried out in an area of the food establishment that is sanitized and appropriate to the operation;
- In accordance with Section 2.3 of the NS Food Retail and Food Services Code, you must keep all floors, walls and ceilings in food preparation, processing and storage areas in good repair. The ceiling and wooden shelves downstairs require resurfacing with approved materials.
