      • Cleansing of skin procedures are not available for procedures conducted near mucus membranes or procedures that may potentially break the skin (i.e. lash extensions, waxing, manicures, pedicures).
    • 20. Is reusable equipment disinfected properly?
      • High level disinfectant contact time is not fulfilled for immersion of instruments. Operator stated instruments are immersed for 10 minutes but contact time on the label requires at least 20 minute contact time. High level disinfectants reuse period is not tracked using test strips and a record sheet to record pass/fail. Disinfectant contained organic material which may affect the disinfectant's efficacy and demonstrates inadequate pre-cleaning of instruments and was labelled "September 2nd". Disinfectant dumped and containers rinsed three times and left to air-dry to be refilled. *Observe and apply the full contact time prescribed by the manufacturer instructions for use.*Thoroughly pre-clean instruments prior to disinfection.*Observe contact time for disinfectant according to the label.*Purchase test strips and monitor and record re-use period of disinfectant.
