      • Single-use tools (nail files and buffing blocks) were being reused. Ensure that single-use tools are discarded after each client.

      • Some re-usable tools (nail clippers) were not visibly clean. Ensure that the re-usable tools are visibly clean prior to disinfection. A round brush is recommended for cleaning of nail clippers.

      • The manufacturer's instructions for Preempt CS20 use were not followed: the tools were immersed in solution for 5 to 10 minutes, and not 20 minutes, as required by the manufacturer. Discussed.

      • Drill bits were not disinfected properly: alcohol (no DIN available - not a disinfectant) was used at the work stations for the disinfection of drill bits between the clients, and the high-level disinfectant was used for the disinfection at the end of the day (reported). Ensure that the drill bits are washed and disinfected with an approved disinfectant between each client.

      • Some work stations were not clean and were covered in nail dust. Floor in the waxing room was not visibly clean: had stains of wax and dirt. Ensure that all work surfaces are cleaned and disinfected between clients and the facility is maintained in a sanitary state.
