    • 04. Are clients at this facility being protected from hazards (Non-Critical)?
      • In OSC room 2, shaving foam labelled “keep out of reach of children” was observed stored in a drawer accessible to children. Ensure all items labelled “keep out of reach” are stored in an inaccessible location. The operator relocated the shaving foam during the inspection.

      • In OSC room 1, Epson printer ink labelled “keep out of reach of children” was observed stored in a drawer accessible to children. Ensure all items labelled “keep out of reach” are stored in an inaccessible location. The operator relocated the ink during the inspection.
    • 08. Is this facility properly constructed (Non-Critical)?
      • The wooden window-sills beneath the two large windows on the back wall in OSC room 3 were observed to be in disrepair and are no longer smooth, moisture-resistant, and easy to clean. Ensure the indicated wooden sills are painted and/or sealed to render the surface smooth and easy to clean.
    • 18. Is the facility and equipment being maintained in a suitable manner (Non-Critical)?
      • 1. The cushions on the black leather couch in OSC room 1 were observed to be in disrepair and are no longer smooth and easy to clean. 2. The back counter near the window furthest from the entrance in OSC room 3 was observed to have small gaps on the top surface, making it difficult to clean. 1. Ensure the indicated couch cushions are replaced, removed, or fitted with a cover that can be laundered to facilitate effective cleaning practices.2. Ensure the indicated gaps are sealed to render the surface smooth and easy to clean.

      • No antiseptic wipes were available in the first aid kit. Please provide.

    • 04. Are clients at this facility being protected from hazards (Non-Critical)?
      • 1. Water beads were observed in Room 3 (Room 13), and they were being re-used. Please be advised that water beads are not recommended to be used in childcare setting, and if they are used, they must be discarded after single use (similar to water in water tables).2. Sharp corners were observed on white shelf in Room 2 (Room 17). Please provide corner protectors.

      • Paint was peeling off the wall in the Kindergarten room 17.June 6 - Discussed painting. Follow up with landlord will be completed.
    • 10. Is a properly supplied first aid kit provided and readily available?
      • No antiseptic wipes were available in the first aid kit. Please provide.
    • 22. Is the plumbing system adequate and being properly maintained (Non-Critical)?
      • Water temperature was too low (measured as 23C) in the Girls' washroom. It was increased during the inspection. Ensure that adequate supply of hot and cold running water is provided.
    • 29. Are washrooms / bathing facilities properly constructed, maintained and supplied (Non-Critical)?
      • Toilet paper was placed on a toilet tank and was not in appropriate dispenser in the water-closet of Room 1 (Room 14). It was addressed during the inspection.

      • Paint was peeling off the wall in the Kindergarten room 17.June 6 - Discussed painting. Follow up with landlord will be completed.
    • 32. Are general nuisance conditions, other than those noted in other violations, being prevented at this child care facility (Non-Critical)?
      • Heat register was temporarily repaired with duct tape. A permanent repair is required. Director indicated heating units may be removed. Please provide an update for repairs on heating unit.
