      • Hand sink next to the ice machine was initially blocked by the garbage can. - Garbage was moved, please ensure this sink is always accessible and there is a clear path to it. Staff should be able to properly wash their hands at all times.
    • 19. Does the facility have a valid permit and does the facility operate in compliance with the conditions of that permit, or is the facility awaiting approval prior to operation?
      • Valid food permit was not posted in a conspicuous place. - Please ensure permit is posted.
    • 22. Are utensils and equipment maintained in a condition and a manner that ensures the safe handling of food?
      • There was a dirty piece of cardboard on the counter being used as a splashguard for the dishwashing sink. - Please remove the cardboard as it cannot be properly cleaned. A cleanable splashguard should be installed if food preparation is conducted beside this sink.
    • 23. Is the facility maintained in a clean and sanitary condition?
      • There was some debris/grease buildup on the back storage shelves. - Please clean the shelves.

    • 04. Does the operator use approved methods for cleaning and sanitizing equipment, utensils, and surfaces?
      • Initially cloths were not stored in a sanitizer solution. Sanitizer bucket was re-filled at this time and wiping cloths were put into the sanitizer solution. - Please continue to ensure that all wiping cloths are stored in an approved sanitizer solution or used once then washed.

    • 13. Are properly operating hand washing sink(s) accessible to food handlers, located in suitable areas, and stocked with appropriate hand washing supplies?
      • Initially, a CO2 cylinder was blocking the hand sink in the back kitchen. - Item was moved making the sink accessible. Please continue to ensure that the sink is always accessible for staff to wash their hands.

      • Some fruit flies were identified in the kitchen. - Continue to consult with pest control company and remove any standing water (dirty mop buckets) that might be attracting them.

      • Facility is utilizing a time as a public health control program but Edo has not been approved for such a program. - Please provide PHI with the franchise’s procedures for holding food items at ambient temperature.
    • 13. Are properly operating hand washing sink(s) accessible to food handlers, located in suitable areas, and stocked with appropriate hand washing supplies?
      • Front hand sink paper towel was not in a suitable dispenser. - Acquire an appropriate dispenser for staff to use without contaminating the bulk supply.
    • 16. Is the facility free of unapproved animals, vermin and/or insects (unless noted elsewhere), and maintained to prevent the entry or harbourage of pests?
      • Some fruit flies were identified in the kitchen. - Continue to consult with pest control company and remove any standing water (dirty mop buckets) that might be attracting them.

      • Back kitchen hand sink was leaking, part needed to repair the leak. - Please ensure this sink is repaired and all plumbing is in good repair.

      • Food handler was observed wearing bracelets.- Items were removed during the inspection. Please ensure all staff are not wearing wrist/hand jewelry and have clean and short fingernails.

      • Facility is utilizing a time as a public health control program but Edo has not been approved for such a program. - Please provide PHI with the franchise’s procedures for holding food items at ambient temperature.

      • Initially there was boxes blocking the back hand sink. - Boxes were removed. Ensure staff have access to all hand sinks in the facility.

      • 1) Back hand sink was leaking and was turned off. - Repair the hand sink ensure all sinks are equipped with hot and cold running water. 2) Front hand sink paper towel was not in a suitable dispenser. - Acquire an appropriate dispenser for staff to use without contaminating the bulk supply.

      • There were some food products on the floor of the walk-in cooler. - Ensure all food is stored at least 15 cm above the ground to prevent contamination and facilitate cleaning.

      • Facility is utilizing a time as a public health control program but Edo has not been approved for such a program. - Please provide PHI with the franchise’s procedures for holding food items at ambient temperature.

      • The back hand sink was initially blocked by the back door which was propped open. Was told by the staff it is not typcially like this and the sink is accessible. - Ensure that this hand sink is avaiable at all times for staff to wash their hands.
    • 23. Is the facility maintained in a clean and sanitary condition?
      • There was a small amount of mold and scale buildup in the ice machine. - Thoroughly clean the ice machine.
