      • There was no paper towel dispenser at the handsink in the kitchen. Please install one.
    • 23. Is the facility maintained in a clean and sanitary condition?
      • The paper towel dispensers in both men and women washrooms were not functional. Please repair or replace.

      • The side door was open at the time of inspection. Although the side door is equipped with a screen door, gap was noted under the screen door which could be an entry point for pests. Please ensure weatherstripping is installed under the screen door, otherwise keep the side door closed.
    • 21. Is the facility properly constructed and maintained in a state of good repair to allow for the safe and sanitary handling of food?
      • A few pieces of ceiling tiles were cracked or damaged. Please replace them.

      • Updates: Some improvement was made, still needs work. The frame of the side door in the kitchen area, located near the commercial refrigerator and dishwasher, is in need of repair.

      • Updates: A few pieces were replaced. Ceiling tiles are acoustic and not water impervious. Owner will systematically change the tiles over.

      • - The facility does not have food safety records to monitor the safety of food processes being performed. Please ensure written food safety records documentation is created to ensure food is prepared properly to minimize the risk of foodborne illnesses.
    • 07. Do food handlers ensure that food is protected from contamination (unless noted elsewhere)(Critical)?
      • - The ice scooper was found being stored in the ice machine, in direct contact with the ice. The staff was promptly notified, and the ice scooper was immediately removed.Please make sure that the ice scooper is stored in a separate container in order to prevent any contamination of the ice.
    • 07. Do food handlers ensure that food is protected from contamination (unless noted elsewhere)(Critical)?
      • - Observed onion ring uncovered in freezer unit. Staff were notified and the onion rings were covered, Please ensure all food sold to the public is covered during storage to minimize the risk of contamination from biological, chemical and physical sources.

      • - Staff were unable to provide proper test strips to measure QUATS sanitizer. Please ensure proper test strips are acquired to ensure proper concentrations of sanitizer.
    • 16. Is the facility free of unapproved animals, vermin and/or insects (unless noted elsewhere), and maintained to prevent the entry or harbourage of pests?
      • - The side door in the kitchen area, located near the commercial refrigerator and dishwasher, is in need of repair. It has significant gaps along the framing, allowing for infiltration points and causing the kitchen space to lose heat. During the inspection, thermal linings were being used to fill in the gaps and prevent warm air from escaping. Please ensure the side door is repaired to eliminate infiltration points for pest and reduce the loss of heat in the kitchen space.

      • -The rear door needs new weatherstripping. There are gaps at the bottom of the door, allowing infiltration. Please make sure to install sufficient weatherstripping to minimize the risk of pests entering the premises.

      • - Kitchen flooring requires a thorough sweep and clean as a significant amount food debris was observed between equipment. Please ensure the floors are clean to minimize attraction of pests, and to promote a clean and sanitary environment.
