    • 13. Is single-use or uncleanable equipment being used as intended (Critical)?
      • Foam and/or cardboard nail files, buffers etc. are single use items that must be discarded after each client.
    • 20. Is reusable equipment disinfected properly?
      • No test strips on site. Obtain test strips use to test the disinfectant daily. Record results on the log that was printed out.

      • A high-level disinfectant is required for disinfection of semi-critical equipment. Purchase a high-level disinfectant & proper indicator test strips (recommend 2 boxes) and keep High Level Disinfectant (HLD) logs. HLD log templates were provided at the time of inspection.
    • 26. Are cosmetic products appropriate for their intended use and being handled properly?
      • Label all cosmetic products throughout the facility at manicure/pedicure stations and waxing room (i.e. pedicure salt, gel, scrubs oils etc.).Keep original/bulk supply of all cosmetic products at the facility. The original/bulk supply must be labelled with product identity, manufacturer, directions for use and/or list of ingredients.
    • 27. Is the facility maintained in a visibly clean state and are environmental surfaces cleaned and disinfected properly?
      • Clean the waxing room – there were a lot of unnecessary items and/or items no longer being used at this facility.
    • 29. Is the facility properly constructed and maintained to allow for the safe and sanitary provision of personal services (Non-Critical)?
      • Facility cluttered making cleaning difficult. Extra treatment bed and boxes in treatment room make proper cleaning difficult.
