- The water sample collected on November 15, 2024, has TC present in the sample.REQUIREMENT: Review the water chemistry. If there are any problems identified, begin immediate treatment of the water. If no problems are identified, review the water sampling technique to ensure that there wasn’t accidental contamination during the collection. Carefully collect and send a re-sample immediately after you complete any treatments.

- The water sample collected on August 11, 2023, had an HPC hit of 156 CFU/mL.REQUIREMENT: Please review the water chemistry for the pool and balance as needed. An immediate re-sample is not required for the main pool at this time.
- 04. Is the chemical quality of the water in this pool satisfactory (Critical)?
- The FAC in the pool ranged between 0.73 to 0.93 ppm. Because the temperature exceeds 30 Celsius, the pool operator is required to maintain a minimum free available chlorine of 2.0 ppm.The pool did have a sufficient ORP value of < 700 mV at the time of the inspection, so the pool was not ordered to be closed.REQUIREMENT: Please decide on one of the following options:1) Reduce the temperature of the pool water to below 30 Celsius, so that the minimum free available chlorine amount is 1.0 ppm2) Increase the free available chlorine to 2.0 ppm and ensure that water sample requisition forms indicate the > 30 Celsius temperature, notifying the lab that the pool water needs to be tested for Pseudomonas.
- 09. Are general nuisance conditions, other than those noted in other violations, being prevented at this pool (Critical)?
- During the inspection, the inspectors requested that a maintenance staff member who routinely conducts water chemistry testing perform a pH test of the water. The maintenance staff member has not received formal training as a pool operator, despite being given tasks and responsibilities relating to the pool. While the staff member was testing the pH, it was observed that improper testing procedure was conducted. The pH test was being conducted with the Acid Demand and Base Demand test at the same time, creating an inaccurate result. The inspectors explained the testing error and corrected the staff member during the inspection.REQUIREMENT: Staff members should not be conducting water chemistry testing unless they are properly trained by the certified pool operator and/or are able to follow the testing kit manufacturer's instructions Alternatively, ensure any staff member who has duties and responsibilities relating to the pools takes a pool operator training course.
- 10. Are general nuisance conditions, other than those noted in other violations, being prevented at this pool (Non-Critical)?
- The flow rate is exceeding the manufacturer's design specification of 100 USGPM.REQUIREMENT: Lower the flow rate so it is between the ranges noted in the opening comments.
- 16. Are proper testing, monitoring, and other records being properly maintained?
- Written records were not being taken daily for the whirlpool. The dates for September 07 and 08 are missing.REQUIREMENT: Refer to Section 5.1 of the Pool Standards. Ensure that operational records, especially for chlorine and pH, are being taken daily.
