- 03. Are facility-specific written procedures established to adequately describe safe and sanitary practices?
- Written procedures were not prepared at the time of the inspection. Forms were provided to the operator. Shortly after the inspection, the operator submitted a photo of the filled out cleansing skin template.
- 20. Is reusable equipment disinfected properly?
- Violations:1. The bottle of CS20 for lash tweezers was expired. 2. The bottle of CS20 test strips was expired. 3. Operator was not recording results of CS20 tests. 4. Operator was not following proper steps for cleaning and high-level disinfection. 5. Lash tweezers were not fully submerged in the CS20Corrections made:1. Operator submitted a photo of newly purchased CS20 shortly after the inspection (same-day).2. Operator submitted a photo of newly purchased CS20 test strips (same-day). 3. A high-level disinfection log has been emailed to the operator and will be filled out moving forward. Please note the maximum amount of days CS20 can be reused is 14 as per the manufacturer's instructions. 4. Education provided on proper steps for cleaning and disinfection. Please ensure the lash tweezers are cleaned with soap and warm water > air dried > fully submerged in CS20 for at least 20 minutes > rinsed > air dried > moved to storage. 5. Operator has purchased a new container that will be used to fully submerge the tweezers in the CS20.
- 30. Is the reprocessing area of a personal service facility that uses reusable equipment properly designed, managed and maintained to ensure the safety of clients?
- The only sink available for reprocessing equipment is in the washroom. Semi-critical equipment such as lash extension tweezers require a dedicated reprocessing sink that is not in a washroom or a kitchen. The sink must be also permanently connected to a potable water source, mobile sink are not allowed.
