Inspection summary

Farm Gate Winery & Fruit Stand has been inspected 4 times by Interior Health Authority since August 26, 2020. The most recent inspection, on August 17, 2026, recorded 2 infractions.

2 of 4 inspections on record found no infractions at all. In the past 12 months there was 1 inspection with 2 infractions recorded. The higher-risk findings here relate to: Protecting food from contamination and Food source, labelling and allergens.

Recent inspections have recorded more infractions than earlier ones, so it is worth reading the latest reports closely.

What these findings mean

Health authorities word their violations differently, so we group them by what they mean for food safety. Higher-risk findings are the ones inspectors treat as critical, because they can directly make someone sick.

  • Protecting food from contaminationHigher risk

This covers how food is stored, prepared and displayed: raw meat kept away from ready-to-eat food, food covered and stored off the floor, and nothing dripping or splashing into it. Cross-contamination from raw to cooked food is a direct route for salmonella and E. coli.

Recorded 2 times across 2 separate inspections, most recently on August 17, 2026. For example: 5 Are the premises and equipment properly maintained and operated in a sanitary manner (i.e. ongoing maintenance)?

  • Food source, labelling and allergensHigher risk

Food must come from approved suppliers, stay in labelled containers and be thrown out when it is spoiled or damaged, such as dented or swollen cans. Labelling matters for allergies: an unlabelled container can hide an allergen.

Recorded once on August 17, 2026. For example: 6 Are the foods from approved sources and has the operator taken steps to ensure that the food is safe for consumption?

We had the pleasure of stopping at Farm Gate Winery on our way home from Penticton, and we’re so glad we did! We hadn’t heard of this winery before, but it ended up being one of the highlights of our trip. The woman who welcomed us was incredibly friendly and accommodating. We had kids with us, and she encouraged us to bring them in rather than worrying about them waiting in the car. There was live music, and the musician even entertained the kids with a little magic show, which made the experience so memorable for everyone. The atmosphere was warm, welcoming, and relaxed, and the wines were absolutely excellent. We left with a few bottles and wonderful memories. If you’re passing through the area, I highly recommend making a stop. Thank you for such a fantastic experience! We will definitely be back!

Get the Nectarine. Get the Nectarine. Get the Nectarine!!! As someone who drinks a lot of red wine, I have never fallen in love with a white wine this fast. I was gifted this lovely bottle by my colleagues and when I ran out, I searched around ALL of Vancouver for 11 months to look for it. No luck. So I made the most random BC Day Holiday decision of my life - I drove 4.5 hours to come to the source. This winery was not only just beautifully artistic inside, but the owners are the most down to earth and kindest individuals I have ever met. My boyfriend and I did not pass up the opportunity to do a tasting and I can confidently say, GET THE MERLOT GET THE MERLOT GET THE MERLOT!! Get all the wines (like seriously)! We left with a case of 16 but my biggest regret was not leaving with more! I have collected over hundreds of bottles of wines in the Okanagan and in Europe but Farm Gate Winery takes the cake! If that doesn't convince you to buy wine here... I don't know what could. GET THE NECTARINE. TRY ALL THE WINES!

What an unbelievable experience. If we could give 10 stars we would. I recognized the name on the side of the road and after we had already passed… we had to turn around to try some wines. We planned to pick up a bottle, and we left with 13! Peter, and Anya (I hope my spelling is correct) We’re fantastic. We’ll be back very soon!!! Thanks so much for helping us have a great experience. Would recommend!!!

Would highly recommend adding this spot to your wine stop. The service was excellent and our host was very friendly. They have a unique selection of fruit wines as well which were quite delicious and the bottle graphics are all so cute! They also have some very good deals and prices for a good quality product. The only feedback I have is that I wish they had some merchandise/ t-shirts similar to their bottle graphics, our group would have loved to grab a few.

I try 6-7 wine and they all taste amazing. The price is really affordable! If you like sweet fruit wine, this is a place for you. of course, they also have other wine selections. I bought Blueberry and Nectarine fruit wine, and the Merlot desert wine, which is SO GOOD! Definitely make this a go to whenever I pass by the area! The lady at the store is really nice and friendly. great vibes!
