    • 03. Are facility-specific written procedures established to adequately describe safe and sanitary practices?
      • This is the second complaint the facility has received for injuries. Develop a first aid plan and acquire a proper first aid kit.
    • 20. Is reusable equipment disinfected properly?
      • 1. Many barbicide jars were half full, indicating that there is not enough for full immersion of combs and tools to ensure complete disinfection.2. Operator demonstrated how they disinfected clippers with Clippercide. Clippercide was not applied for the full 10 minutes as required by the manufacturer's instructions for use.3. It is unclear how often towels and capes are being laundered. Towels must be laundered after each client, capes at the end of day if unsoiled or after each client if wet/soiled. 4. There was no surface disinfectant for work areas/chairs that was observed.
    • 27. Is the facility maintained in a visibly clean state and are environmental surfaces cleaned and disinfected properly?
      • There was hair observed building up on the work surfaces and drawers. Please ensure that daily cleaning is conducted of all work areas to prevent the buildup of hair and debris. Ensure that towels on trays and counters are washed daily, and drawers are cleaned out.**REPEAT VIOLATION (October 16/2024)

      • There was hair observed building up on the work surfaces. Please ensure that daily cleaning is conducted of all work areas to prevent the buildup of hair and debris. Ensure that towels on trays and counters are washed daily, and drawers are cleaned out.
