    • 07. Do food handlers ensure that food is protected from contamination (unless noted elsewhere)(Critical)?
      • It was observed that fly stick rolls hanging over near proximity of the food prep counter. - Relocate the fly stick rolls further away from any prep food table or food product.
    • 09. Are chemicals stored and handled in a safe manner?
      • Bottles of Raid were observed during the inspection.- They were discarded at the time of inspection. - Do not have any insecticide in the food establishment.
    • 13. Are properly operating hand washing sink(s) accessible to food handlers, located in suitable areas, and stocked with appropriate hand washing supplies?
      • A metal bowl was stored in the basin of the back kitchen hand sink at the time of the inspection. The bowl was removed at the time of the inspection. Do not store anything in front of or in the basin of the hand sinks to allow for unobstructed access by food handlers.
    • 16. Is the facility free of unapproved animals, vermin and/or insects (unless noted elsewhere), and maintained to prevent the entry or harbourage of pests?
      • Fruit flies were observed during the time of the inspection.- Have a deep clean of the food facility and/or contact an extermination company and eliminate the pest

      • Hard to reach areas have dirt build up.- Clean and sanitize all hard to reach areas.

    • 13. Are properly operating hand washing sink(s) accessible to food handlers, located in suitable areas, and stocked with appropriate hand washing supplies?
      • A metal bowl was stored in the basin of the back kitchen hand sink at the time of the inspection. The bowl was removed at the time of the inspection. Do not store anything in front of or in the basin of the hand sinks to allow for unobstructed access by food handlers.
    • 22. Are utensils and equipment maintained in a condition and a manner that ensures the safe handling of food?
      • Duct tape was observed around the edge of the grease trap. The operator stated a new seal has been ordered to repair the grease trap. Remove the Duct Tape as it is not a cleanable surface.

      • Take out containers, paper towels, and containers of food were being stored under waste plumbing of the front service area hand wash sink.Items were relocated during inspection. Do not store food, food equipment, or related items under waste plumbing in order to protect from contamination.
    • 22. Are utensils and equipment maintained in a condition and a manner that ensures the safe handling of food?
      • Damaged food storage container was repaired with Tuck Tape.Discard damaged food storage container.

      • There was Tuck Tape on the back of the left compartment of the dishwashing sinks.Remove the Tuck Tape as it is not a cleanable surface.

      • June 29, 2023:Some cockroaches observed on pest monitoring sticky traps in the facility. One live cockroach observed on the floor underneath/behind a bag of takeout containers that was being stored on the floor. November 29, 2022:Observed some cockroaches on pest monitoring sticky traps in the facility, mostly around the grease interceptor. Observed one dead cockroach in the cupboard under the hand wash sink in the front service area. Ensure that adequate pest control takes place.
    • 21. Is the facility properly constructed and maintained in a state of good repair to allow for the safe and sanitary handling of food?
      • Grease interceptor was professionally cleaned on July 5, 2023. Report shows 30% water. Water should make up at least 75% of the volume in the grease interceptor.
