Inspection summary
Immaculate Conception Church has been inspected 6 times by Interior Health Authority since January 6, 2015. The most recent inspection, on April 16, 2026, recorded 2 infractions.
1 of 6 inspections on record found no infractions at all. In the past 12 months there was 1 inspection with 2 infractions recorded. The higher-risk findings here relate to: Protecting food from contamination and Cleaning and sanitizing.
The number of infractions per inspection has stayed roughly the same over time.
What these findings mean
Health authorities word their violations differently, so we group them by what they mean for food safety. Higher-risk findings are the ones inspectors treat as critical, because they can directly make someone sick.
Protecting food from contaminationHigher risk
This covers how food is stored, prepared and displayed: raw meat kept away from ready-to-eat food, food covered and stored off the floor, and nothing dripping or splashing into it. Cross-contamination from raw to cooked food is a direct route for salmonella and E. coli.
Recorded 2 times across 2 separate inspections, most recently on April 16, 2026. For example:
5 Are the premises and equipment properly maintained and operated in a sanitary manner (i.e. ongoing maintenance)?
Cleaning and sanitizingHigher risk
Anything that touches food, such as cutting boards, dishes and utensils, must be washed, rinsed and sanitized. Inspectors check dishwasher temperatures, sanitizer strength and how wiping cloths are stored. Poor sanitizing lets bacteria survive from one use to the next.
Recorded once on November 26, 2024. For example:
3 Are food contact surfaces, utensils and equipment washed and sanitized in a manner that removes/prevents contamination?
Equipment and utensilsLower risk
Equipment has to be built from cleanable materials, kept in good repair and stored properly. These findings are mostly about upkeep, like a cracked shelf, a worn gasket or utensils stored the wrong way. They are generally lower risk but show how well the kitchen is maintained.
Recorded once on March 14, 2017. For example:
4 - Are the premises, equipment and utensils designed and maintained to ensure safe and sanitary food handling?
Other findingsLower risk
Findings that do not fit the categories above, such as follow-ups that confirm an earlier violation was corrected, or requirements specific to this type of facility.
Recorded 2 times across 2 separate inspections, most recently on April 16, 2026. For example:
1 Does the facility have proper monitoring supplies?

Traditional with a multicultural congregation that is always ready to lend a hand. Full of life and the Holy Spirit. Beautiful church with deep roots in the community.

Beautiful Sunday service and if you haven't heard Fr Loui sing, than you are out for a treat! I drive every Sunday from Vernon and it's worth it! Praise the lord!

I have always gone to church here since I went to school at St Joseph Elementary. But I find myself increasingly disappointed with the topic of the sermons (about how masturbation is the devil putting a rift between you and your family, and how you need to confess to remove the devil's influence...), the holier-than-thou ideology of church goers (a middle-aged woman was helping a man in a wheelchair get set up in a wheelchair place before the mass, and a woman behind me commented on how "disgusting" this kind woman's tattoos were, as if it were the worst sin in the world), and the outdated ideas surrounding abortion (pro-life collections are taken every two weeks, but upon asking my own grandmother about what Christians are doing to help vulnerable mothers who choose to forego an abortion and birth a child while often young, poor, and single, she replied that "other people" would donate money for that. As if it's none of your business after the baby is born, but harrassing pregnant women outside the hospital is somehow your business or duty). The church building is nice as well as the staff and persons operating the church, but masses often run long and the church is always freezing. In all the times I've driven my grandma to church or went there as a kid, I have yet to be impressed by a mass.

Best Parish I’ve attended in Canada. Fr Cerlouie is A young Holy priest who faithfully and reverently executes Holy Mass. There is also a Adoration Chapel which the Lord is in the Monstrance 24/365. Holy Mass is around 1 hr and sermons are always on topic of the Gospel.
