      • Toddler room: window was open, screen torn and child was observed placing hand out window and tossing a toy out. * If opening windows then must have intact insect screens.

      • Bleach solution was not properly labelled in the OSC. Please ensure chemicals are properly labelled with their contents.
    • 08. Is this facility properly constructed (Non-Critical)?
      • Baby Room - the black shelving unit above the sinks had exposed wood. Please ensure the surface is smooth, and cleanable.
    • 16. Does the social care facility have adequate lighting?
      • Baby Room - one light bulb was burned out and requires replacement.Toddler Room - one light bulb burned out in the bathroom.Preschool Room - light bulb burned out in the bathroom.

      • OSC - The side edges of the sink in the OSC bathroom requires sealant to prevent water infiltration.OSC - the sink in the OSC room was slow to drain. Please ensure that the sink drain is functional.
    • 20. Are indoor play areas and equipment sufficient and being properly maintained to ensure client safety (Non-Critical)?
      • OSC - The pink saucer chair cover was fabric and not removable for adequate cleaning. Please remove from use.

      • OSC - One toilet was out of order in the OSC. Repair required.OSC - The faucet was loose in the bathroom. Repair required.

      • Preschool Room - water temperature was approximately 56.5C which is too hot. Please adjust water temperature so that hot water maximum is 49C at child accessible faucets.OSC - water temperature at one of the bathrooms in the OSC was monitored at 60C. If children are using this faucet, please ensure the water temperature is maintained at less than 49C

      • Preschool Room - Toilet paper roll holder in the bathroom was in disrepair.

      • Program uses wall mounted soap dispensers and several of the dispensers had what appeared to be older dried soap residue inside. Please clean dispenser and fill with fresh soap. Unclean dispensers can lead to old stale soap and mold growth.

      • Baby room - mouthed toy bin was not present. Please ensure a labelled mouthed toy bin is available for dirty toys.

      • Toddler Room - Staff indicated that utensils were being washed in the sink located in the baby room. Please ensure that dishes and utensils are being washed using the three compartment sink method in the kitchen area.
