- A spare fire extinguisher was being stored accessible on the floor.Corrective Action:Advised director to move this to an appropriate area during the inspection.
- 20. Are indoor play areas and equipment sufficient and being properly maintained to ensure client safety (Non-Critical)?
- Director noted the use of a Sodium Hydroxide product in the commercial sanitizer for toy washing. This is not an approved sanitizer for food contact surfaces or toys.Corrective Action:- Confirmed that the facility uses a commercial high-temperature dishwasher/sanitizer. A few cycles were run, and it was measured at a max of 74 C at dish level. This meets the requirement of a minimum of 71 C at dish level.- Advised the director to use the sanitizer as is and to not add the sodium hydroxide product for sanitizing toys moving forward.- Advised the director to purchase a waterproof maximum temperature recording thermometer to be able to test the dishwasher/sanitizer.
