- Biological monitoring is not being conducted on the sterilizer. Biological monitoring is required in order to assess the effectiveness of the sterilizer to kill spores and microorganisms. This test MUST be done at least monthly.Please obtain biological monitoring tests (vials or strips). The spore tests must be done at least once a month and records of the results must be kept.

- Chemical indicator strips are not used inside each package that is to be sterilized. Biological indicators are not used at all on the autoclave. Please obtain Class/Type 5 chemical indicator strips and insert one in each package that is intended to go through the autoclave. The strip (and results) must be visible from the outside of the package.Please obtain biological monitoring tests (vials or strips). The spore tests must be done at least once a month when the autoclave is in use.
