What these findings mean
Health authorities word their findings differently, so we group them by what they mean for clients. In personal service settings like salons, spas and tattoo studios, higher-risk findings are the ones that could spread infection from one client to the next, through broken skin, blood or instruments that were not properly cleaned and sterilized.
Permits, records and postingLower risk
Operating permits, client records, sterilization logs and required signage. Client records matter because they let health officials contact people if an infection is linked to the business.
Recorded once on October 17, 2025. For example:
Is cleansing and antisepsis of skin and mucous membrane performed in accordance to written procedures and are suitable products being used?

- The operators were using Dettol as an antiseptic, and it was expired in 2025. The antiseptic must not be expired as this does not guarantee the effectiveness of the product. Ensure the date of the antiseptic is regularly checked and discard those that expired. The operator discarded the Dettol during the inspection.
