    • 06. Are proper protocols being followed in regards to client care?
      • Three staff water bottles were observed to be stored on the dedicated diapering surface in the infant room. Please ensure the diapering surface is not used to store personal belongings to help prevent potential contamination. The operator relocated the indicated bottles during inspection.
    • 08. Is this facility properly constructed (Non-Critical)?
      • Two gaps were observed between the diapering guards and the main counter on the dedicated diapering surfaces in the toddler and infant rooms which make the surface difficult to clean. Ensure the indicated gaps are sealed to render the surface smooth and easy to clean.
    • 10. Is a properly supplied first aid kit provided and readily available?
      • Several expired alcohol wipes were observed in the first aid kit in the Infant Room. Please ensure the indicated wipes are replaced and the first aid kit is checked for proper inventory.
    • 18. Is the facility and equipment being maintained in a suitable manner (Non-Critical)?
      • 1. A buildup of grime was observed on the dedicated diapering surfaces along the protective guards in the toddler washroom and in the infant room washroom. 2. A buildup of grime was observed on the faucet handles in the toddler washroom. 3. A buildup of food debris was observed in the shelving compartments on the interior side of the small fridge door in the infant room. 4. A buildup of grime was observed on the floor in the infant room washroom. 5. A buildup of grime was observed along the railing on the stairs leading down to the outdoor play space. 6. A stain was observed on the grey carpet in the Toddler 1 Room. 1-6. Ensure the indicated areas are cleaned and sanitized.

      • 1. A screw was protruding from the exterior side of the washroom gate near the door handle on the washroom furthest from the entrance in the Preschool Room 2. 2. A screw was protruding from the main entrance door in the infant room near the handle on the interior side of the door. 1-2. Please ensure the indicated screws are removed.
    • 32. Are general nuisance conditions, other than those noted in other violations, being prevented at this child care facility (Non-Critical)?
      • Several fabric curtains were observed to be hanging in front of the toilets in the Preschool Room 1 washroom which are not smooth, resistant to moisture and easy to clean. Please ensure the curtains are replaced with a material that is smooth, resistant to moisture and easy to clean to help facilitate effective disinfection in the washroom.

      • Some bottles/cups were not labelled in Infant Green (addressed during the inspection), Toddler Purple (addressed during the inspection), and Preschool Blue rooms.

      • Hand sanitizer expired in August 2023.

      • Laundry detergent was kept within children's reach in the sink cabinet in the Preschool Blue room. It was removed during the inspection. Ensure that all chemicals are kept out-of-reach of children.

      • Small pom-poms were kept within children's reach in the Toddler Green room. They were removed during the inspection.

      • Chlorine concentration of chlorine bleach disinfectant was 50 ppm in the Toddler Green/Toddler Purple diaper changing area. It was addressed during the inspection. Ensure that the chlorine concentration is at least 100 ppm.
