- 04. Does the operator use approved methods for cleaning and sanitizing equipment, utensils, and surfaces?
- The sanitizing bottle available for use did not have any detectable chlorine concentration when tested with strips. The solution was replaced and retested with strips to confirm that a 100 ppm chlorine concentration was available. Sample test strips were left on site in case the school division wishes to order their own (food sanitizer test strips with 0, 50, 100, 200 ppm chlorine detection limits). A more than adequate amount of chlorine above 1/2 teaspoon of bleach was added to the bottle before a concentration could be detected, so it is possible that detergent and/or other additives may be interfering with the reading.
