    • 08. Is this facility properly constructed (Non-Critical)?
      • The blue wall next to the hand washing sink beside the diapering station in the Sweet Pea/Sunflower room is observed to be in disrepair. Ensure that the wall is repaired as required for its maintenance. All walls in a childcare facility must be smooth, durable, easy to clean, impervious to moisture and maintained in good repair for easy cleaning and sanitization.

    • 03. Are clients at this facility being protected from hazards (Critical)?
      • Some of the window blind cords in the Buttercup room were observed to be hanging and within reach of children. Staff were able to clip the window blind cords out of reach of children during the inspection. Ensure that window blind cords are secured and out of reach of children to prevent entanglement and/or strangulation injuries.

      • The blue wall next to the hand washing sink beside the diapering station in the Sweet Pea/Sunflower room is observed to be in disrepair. Ensure that the wall is repaired as required for its maintenance. All walls in a childcare facility must be smooth, durable, easy to clean, impervious to moisture and maintained in good repair for easy cleaning and sanitization.
    • 09. Are properly operating hand washing sink(s) available in suitable location(s), and properly stocked with handwashing supplies?
      • 1. The paper towel dispenser in the washroom in the Daisy room was empty. Staff restocked the dispenser with paper towel during the inspection. Ensure that all hand washing sinks are stocked with required hand washing supplies at all times (liquid soap and paper towels) for children and staff to perform proper hand hygiene. 2. The hand washing sink next to the diapering station in the Pea Pod room was obstructed by laundry baskets, a bulk bubble liquid container, and a staff member's personal shoes. Items were removed during the inspection.Hand washing sinks must be easily accessible and unobstructed for childcare staff at all times to ensure proper hand hygiene is being conducted, especially before and after diapering infants.
    • 17. Is the facility and equipment being maintained in a suitable manner (Critical)?
      • Bleach and water sanitizing solutions in the Sweet Pea room was tested and measured at a concentration of 50 ppm. Staff were able to remake the sanitizer solutions to 100 ppm during the inspection.Please ensure bleach sanitizing solution is made fresh daily and tested with test strips throughout the day to verify the concentration. The required concentration for bleach sanitizer is 100 ppm for surface cleaning/disinfection.
    • 24. Are sleeping supplies and areas sufficient to ensure client safety and comfort (Non-Critical)?
      • Sleeping mats with individual bedding covers for each child are being stored on top of each other without adequate separation. Ensure that bedding covers or bedding linen for each child are covered and not stored on top of one another to prevent contamination.
    • 32. Are general nuisance conditions, other than those noted in other violations, being prevented at this child care facility (Non-Critical)?
      • 1. Bleach and water sanitizing solution bottle for the diapering station in the Pea Pod room was unlabeled. Staff were able to label the bottle with a permanent marker during the inspection. 2. A pump container soap in the Out of School Care room was unlabeled. Staff were able to label the container with a permanent marker during the inspection. Ensure that all stored chemicals or similar substances in containers are adequately labeled to easily identify their contents and to prevent accidental misuse.

    • 09. Are properly operating hand washing sink(s) available in suitable location(s), and properly stocked with handwashing supplies?
      • The hand washing sink next to the diapering station in the pea pod room was obstructed with a laundry basket and a white pail. These items were moved to the storage room during the inspection. Hand washing stations must be easily accessible and unobstructed for childcare staff at all times to ensure proper hand hygiene is being conducted, especially before and after diapering infants.

    • 30. Are workers washing hands when appropriate and/or in a proper manner?
      • Three hand sanitizer bottles were observed to have expired in 2023. 1. Delon+ 70% Alcohol Based Hand Sanitizer Gel located in the Daisy Room 2. Soapopular Brand Hand Sanitizer (DIN 02270420) located at the reception desk and front entrance of the Daycare Ensure that all hand sanitizers in the facility are not expired for effective cleaning and sanitization of hands when used.

    • 17. Is the facility and equipment being maintained in a suitable manner (Critical)?
      • Chlorine sanitizer solution in one of the spray bottles was measured at 500 ppm in concentration. Operator corrected the violation by increasing the concentration to 1000 ppm during inspection.
