    • 08. Is this facility properly constructed (Non-Critical)?
      • Peeling paint and dirty walls were observed in both the preschool and baby classrooms.-Please repair the affected areas and maintain them in a clean and sanitary condition.
    • 09. Are properly operating hand washing sink(s) available in suitable location(s), and properly stocked with handwashing supplies?
      • A roll of paper towels located beside the diaper station in the baby’s room was not stored in a dispenser, which could result in contamination of the entire roll.-Please provide or install a dispenser for the paper towels to ensure proper hygiene and prevent contamination.
    • 10. Is a properly supplied first aid kit provided and readily available?
      • First aid kits missing emergency blankets.-Please provide emergency blankets in all classrooms' first aid kits.
    • 16. Does the social care facility have adequate lighting?
      • Burnt-out bulbs were observed in the corridor between the preschool and baby classrooms.-Please replace the bulbs and ensure adequate lighting in the identified area to maintain proper sanitary conditions.
    • 18. Is the facility and equipment being maintained in a suitable manner (Non-Critical)?
      • A wobbly wooden cabinet/shelf was observed in the preschool classroom.-Please repair or replace the identified structure.
    • 32. Are general nuisance conditions, other than those noted in other violations, being prevented at this child care facility (Non-Critical)?
      • Numerous storage items were observed in one of the staff washrooms.-Please remove the stored items from the identified washroom and ensure they are properly stored elsewhere to prevent contamination and allow for thorough cleaning and sanitizing of the washroom area.

      • First aid bag for infant room was missing item, cpr barrier device. *Ensure first aid kit is suppled according to CSA Standard Z1220-17 Type 2 Basic Small First Aid Kit
    • 18. Is the facility and equipment being maintained in a suitable manner (Non-Critical)?
      • 1. Toddler room- diaper station has laminated surfacing pitted, underside MDF absorbent. *Asst director advised that a new diaper table has been ordered 2. Infant room- the diaper pad is torn. *replace diaper pad
    • 27. Are proper measures being taken to ensure that vermin do not enter or exist in the facility (Non-Critical)?
      • Main entrance door has visible light on bottom of edge door when door is shut. *replace weather stripping to provide sufficient pest proofing of bottom edge of door.

      • Bleach bottle is labelled 1000ppm chlorine but measured 200ppm. Facility has 100-200ppm strips but not 1000ppm. Discussed issue with director and facility will go with 100-200ppm and will label bottle accordingly.
