      • Observation: (no observation)
      • Corrective Action:
    • 209 - Food not protected from contamination [s. 12(a)]
      • Observation: (CORRECTED DURING INSPECTION) Observed various foods within the walk-in refrigerator left uncovered and open to contamination. (Public Health significance) - Contamination of food from contact with objects, people, pests or chemicals can cause serious illness.
      • Corrective Action: Cover or otherwise protect all foods from airborne contaminants, drips from raw foods, and contact with objects and staff
    • 209 - Food not protected from contamination [s. 12(a)]
      • Observation: (CORRECTED DURING INSPECTION) Observed scoops left in bulk dried food products for ongoing use including ingredient bins, ready to eat product. (Public Health Significance) Improper scoops and scoop storage exposes items to bare hand contact and potential contamination.
      • Corrective Action: Store scoops so that foods are not exposed to the handles or bare hand contact. Store food scoops in a sanitary manner and clean and sanitize them regularly.
    • 302 - Critical Repeat Equipment/utensils/food contact surfaces not properly washed and sanitized [s. 17(2)]
      • Observation: Inadequate sanitizing rinse solution. No sanitizer detected at time of inspection. (Public Health significance) - Automatic dish washers must provide a minimum concentration of 50 parts per million (ppm) as required to effectively sanitize dishware, 100 ppm recommended; Hand washing requires 200 ppm unscented bleach solution.
      • Corrective Action: Immediately initiate hand sanitizing providing a 200 ppm soak for 2 minutes for all dish ware. Have the dishwasher repaired by a qualified technician and monitor and log sanitizer concentration regularly so you know when the unit needs adjustment or repair.

    • 302 - Critical Equipment/utensils/food contact surfaces not properly washed and sanitized [s. 17(2)]
      • Observation: (CORRECTED DURING INSPECTION) No sanitizer (Chlorine) is detected in rinse solution. Automatic dishwashers must provide a minimum concentration of 50 parts per million (ppm) as required to effectively kill pathogens and sanitize dishware.
      • Corrective Action: Operator switched out sanitizer to unscented bleach and was able to reach the minimum concentration of 50 ppm. Monitor and log sanitizer concentration regularly so you know when the unit needs adjustment or repair.
    • 305 - Conditions observed that may allow entrance/harbouring/breeding of pests [s. 26(b),(c)]
      • Observation: (CORRECTED DURING INSPECTION) Back door was left open at time of inspection. Open doors can allow pests to enter the premises and contaminate food items and equipment, increasing the risk of foodborne illness.
      • Corrective Action: Operator closed the door. Door should be kept closed at all times to prevent pest entry.

      • Observation: A remote inspection of this premises was conducted by Teams on 2024-04-15. The operator completed a Food Premises Self-inspection Checklist and submitted this along with any requested supporting documents to the environmental health officer. An on-site inspection was not conducted by the environmental health officer.
      • Corrective Action: N/A
    • 305 - Conditions observed that may allow entrance/harbouring/breeding of pests [s. 26(b),(c)]
      • Observation: (CORRECTED DURING INSPECTION) Gaps were noted on weather stripping at the back door. Small gaps may allow for pest to enter the premises and contaminate food and equipment. .
      • Corrective Action: Operator sealed gaps at door at time of inspection.
