    • 06. Are proper protocols being followed in regards to client care?
      • 1. Proper diapering procedure was not being followed in Starfish 1. Hand washing was not occurring. Plese train staff members with proper diapering procedures. Please ensure to wash clients and staff hands after diapering. 2. The area was not being disinfected after diapering in the Starfish 2. The area must be disinfected after diapering. 3. Diaper station was not located next to the hand washing sink in nemo 2. Please ensure that the diapering station must be located next to the hand washing sink.4. It was noted that the facility was reusing cloth towels to wipe/disinfect diapering stations. The operator indicated that they would start using paper towels for disinfecting diapering areas.5. Food debris was noted in the diapering sink of nemo 2. Please ensure that diapering sink must not be used for food purposes. Please do not rinse dishes or discard food items in the diapering sink.

      • 1. Holes noted in the washroom wall of the preschool. Please seal these holes. 2. Water damage was noted on two ceiling tiles in the OSC room.Please replace the damage ceiling tiles.
    • 18. Is the facility and equipment being maintained in a suitable manner (Non-Critical)?
      • 1. It was noted that the facility was not washing toys prior to disinfecting them. Proper toy washing procedures were discussed with the operator during the inspection. Please wash toys with soap and water, rinse with water and then disinfect them.
    • 25. Are there adequate storage areas sufficient for the operation of the facility?
      • Clients' personal items were in physical contact with other clients' personal items. Please ensure that all clients personal items area must be physically separated from other clients.
    • 30. Are workers washing hands when appropriate and/or in a proper manner?
      • Staff members were not washing hands after diapering and prior to performing other duties in Starfish 1. Please wash hands after diapering.
    • 32. Are general nuisance conditions, other than those noted in other violations, being prevented at this child care facility (Non-Critical)?
      • Garbage bin in nemo 1 was noted to be missing cover. Please either provide a cover for the bin ore replace the bin.

      • Propre diapering procedure was not being followed in Starfish 1. The operator was advised to follow proper diapering procedure. The operator indicated that they will be installing a wall mounted diapering station in this area.
    • 31. Are general nuisance conditions, other than those noted in other violations, being prevented at this child care facility (Critical)?
      • Soiled cleaning cloths were observed to be stored within clients reach in Starfish 1.Please be advised that all soiled linens must be stored away from children. These were removed during the inspection.

    • 06. Are proper protocols being followed in regards to client care?
      • Staff requires additional training with diapering in one of the rooms. Please train the staff with proper diapering procedures.
    • 18. Is the facility and equipment being maintained in a suitable manner (Non-Critical)?
      • 1. General cleaning and organizing is required in the OSC room. Please clean and organize the OSC room properly and ensure it is maintained in a clean and sanitary state at all times. 2. A damaged chair noted in the OSC room. The staff indicated that they are planning to use this chair to potty train one of the clients. Please repair or replace this chair as needed. 3. The OSC room surfaces were not being cleaned and sanitized in between tasks, before and after snacks. Please be advised that all surfaces must be cleaned and sanitized in between tasks.
    • 24. Are sleeping supplies and areas sufficient to ensure client safety and comfort (Non-Critical)?
      • 1. Sleeping supplies were not being stored properly in one of the rooms. Please ensure that all sleeping supplies are properly stored. 2. Communal blankets are being used for sleeping purposes in OSC room. Please be advised that sleeping supplies must not be communal. Please either designate supplies for each client or ensure these are being washed after each use.
