      • An alcohol pad labelled '75% Ethyl Alcohol' was being applied to the skin, however, this pad did not have a NPN or DIN on the packaging.REQUIREMENT: Obtain an antiseptic which has a NPN or DIN.
    • 33. Are general nuisance conditions, other than those noted in other violations, being prevented at this personal services facility (Non-Critical)?
      • A sharps container is available in the facility; however, it is located in a separate room from where microblading takes place.REQUIREMENT: Relocate this sharps container so that staff do not travel with used sharps, which decreases the likelihood of needle-stick injury.

      • Single-use mascara wands used in eyelash services were being disinfected in Pre-empt HLD5 solution, which is not an appropriate solution for disinfecting these tools.REQUIREMENT: Do not use HLD5 solution to reprocess mascara wands.

    • 03. Are facility-specific written procedures established to adequately describe safe and sanitary practices?
      • 1. Written after care procedures were not available.- Please develop written after care procedures for microblading services and ensure clients receive a copy.2. Written procedures did not indicate an antiseptic was used prior to invasive services (ie. microblading).- Corrected during inspection - 70% alcohol is available, ensure this is in the treatment room so it can be used prior to microblading services.
    • 17. Is reusable equipment cleaned properly (Critical)?
      • 1. There were lashes in the HLD5 container.- Corrected during inspection. Ensure the tweezers are thoroughly cleaned before they are immersed in the disinfectant.
    • 20. Is reusable equipment disinfected properly?
      • 1. Preempt HLD5 is reused for 2 days. - Must be discarded daily. If it is kept for reuse up to 14 days per manufacturer, must be tested daily with appropriate test strips and written log must be maintained.
