Inspection summary

London Drugs # 61 Gibsons has been inspected 12 times by Vancouver Coastal Health since April 21, 2015. The most recent inspection, on June 16, 2026, found no infractions.

8 of 12 inspections on record found no infractions at all. In the past 12 months there were 2 inspections with 1 infraction recorded. The higher-risk findings here relate to: Food temperature control.

The number of infractions per inspection has stayed roughly the same over time.

What these findings mean

Health authorities word their violations differently, so we group them by what they mean for food safety. Higher-risk findings are the ones inspectors treat as critical, because they can directly make someone sick.

  • Food temperature controlHigher risk

Bacteria multiply fastest between about 4 °C and 60 °C (40 °F to 140 °F). Inspectors check that cold food stays cold, hot food stays hot, cooked food is cooled quickly, and that staff have accurate thermometers. Temperature problems are one of the most common causes of food poisoning, so these are treated as critical findings.

Recorded 3 times across 3 separate inspections, most recently on March 10, 2022. For example: Potentially hazardous food is at a refrigerated temperature that keeps it safe to eat.

  • Building, plumbing and upkeepLower risk

Floors, walls and ceilings must be smooth and clean, with working lighting, ventilation, plumbing, hot and cold water, and washrooms. These are rarely an immediate food-safety risk on their own, but persistent problems can lead to pest or sanitation issues.

Recorded once on May 1, 2026. For example: Operator of a food premises has developed, maintained, and followed approved written procedures to ensure that a health hazard does not occur.

Terrible customer service. They also falsely advertise items and then when you show them the exact stock ID tag online with the exact same location, with a literal screenshot showing that it’s directly from London Drugs and that this is a special offer, they get pissy and refuse to honour it because somehow their minimum wage jobs are a hill to die on? LEGALLY you cannot falsely advertise in Canada, you have to honour it. Don’t list something on your website for pickup in store for 17.99$ let’s say, and then in store it’s 33$ and refuse to honour that advertised price directly from your corporations website, listing this location is available for promotion and then act confused. I’ve worked in customer service for years, if you have something advertised for a price- you legally have to sell it for that price, whether it’s active or not. In this case, both promotions are active and I’ll be contacting HR as it’s absolutely ridiculous how rude your staff are.

I was shopping at the London drugs in Gibson, BC and was looking for a new laptop charger. Claire, the tech Manager, was quick to help and provide alternative solutions when the apple chargers were out of stock. She was super helpful and not pushy with getting a more expensive product; kept it personable while being professional. Thank you for the great experience!

The staff are all so sweet here...! But 2 stars for upper management. I had to go in twice in a day and had the same cashier twice. I noticed despite their long shift they did not have stools or anti fatigue mats in place for their staff! I work in hospitality so spend a lot of time on my feet, I know how it feels to need a little extra cushioning when you are standing in place all day. It seems like a poor decision on their management's part to not do a little extra to keep their staff comfortable. I believe in business it is always important to take care of your employees health and well being! Hopefully the next time I visit they will have rectified this over sight!

Will be calling tomorrow, but came in tonight to see if they could fix the mess up Rogers made on my cellphone service. Currently emergency services only and will be at least until tomorrow when I can try to sort it on my own. I was on hold with tech support for over 2 hours, so thought maybe they could help me at London Drugs. I was told to try the Rogers in Sechelt right away by one of the staff - Why would I do that if I'm standing in London Drugs in Gibsons? Also, I take the bus and live across the street from the mall. I was then told that they have a priority line to tech when they noticed they couldn't add a sim to my account. The guy called and waited on hold for a few minutes to hang up and try calling another number. Then another customer asked if someone could help him in the laptop department. The guy helping me told me that he would go help that client and to stay on hold with tech or go to Sechelt to the Rogers there. Again, not sure why I would do this if I'm standing in front of the agent in the store. London Drugs and the Rogers in Sechelt are dealers and have the same access. He left me standing at the counter by myself, without bothering to fully help. I'm going to be honest, it felt like they just didn't want to help me or that they thought they could actually make commission off of the laptop customer. I waited around for ages and went to customer service to ask if there was manager, there wasnt which is fine. They then called another person over who went and asked the original representative why he left me standing at the counter and he said that the original guy said that I was on hold already. This isn't really good enough excuse. Okay, but what happened to this supposed priority line? Now, I'm still without cell service until I can call Rogers tomorrow or something. I'm super unimpressed, I've literally spent thousands and thousands of dollars at this London Drugs to essentially be sloughed off for a higher priority customer. I also feel like I've built up a rapport with many of the staff who work here, many of them are super lovely. This visit to London Drugs has to be honestly the absolute worst customer service experience I've received on the coast. This has left me with a super bad taste in my mouth and I'm honestly pretty appalled. They knew I was already frustrated and just left me without fully trying to help.

London's drugs sets the bar for drug stores as they have the best selection and prices. This location holds up the LD brand in every way. Service here may be a little friendlier than in the city though.
