      • (1) There were no written procedures available. The operator completed the Written Procedure for Accidental Skin Cuts or Punctures at the time of inspection.* Ensure written procedure is kept on site, and the staff are aware of where it is stored.* Ensure the written procedure is presented to a PHI upon request.

      • (1) There was hair on the brushes stored in the trolly near the entrance. * Reminder that only clean tools should be kept inside the storage drawers. * Recommend having labeled bins for storing dirty tools until they can be washed and disinfected.
    • 20. Is reusable equipment disinfected properly?
      • (1) Various chemicals were expired. The Antidotpro Scalfix Hand Sanitizer (NPN 80098259, 70% alcohol) was expired in 2022. The PREempt RTU expired in 2022. The PREempt wipes expired in 2022. (2) The proper steps were not being followed for cleaning and disinfecting tools. Tools were not being washed and disinfectants were expired. Discussed the proper steps for cleaning and disinfecting tools, and the set-up of a proper cleaning area/zone.
    • 27. Is the facility maintained in a visibly clean state and are environmental surfaces cleaned and disinfected properly?
      • (1) The trolly near the entrance had various miscellaneous items on it that were not for business use. The operator removed all the miscellaneous items from the trolly.
    • 33. Are general nuisance conditions, other than those noted in other violations, being prevented at this personal services facility (Non-Critical)?
      • (1) The paper towels in the washroom hand sink were not in a proper dispenser.
