Memory Corner has been inspected 2 times by Fraser Health Authority since March 10, 2026. The most recent inspection, on July 29, 2026, recorded 2 infractions.
1 of 2 inspections on record found no infractions at all. In the past 12 months there were 2 inspections with 2 infractions recorded. The higher-risk findings here relate to: Cleaning and sanitizing and Protecting food from contamination.
What these findings mean
Health authorities word their violations differently, so we group them by what they mean for food safety. Higher-risk findings are the ones inspectors treat as critical, because they can directly make someone sick.
Cleaning and sanitizingHigher risk
Anything that touches food, such as cutting boards, dishes and utensils, must be washed, rinsed and sanitized. Inspectors check dishwasher temperatures, sanitizer strength and how wiping cloths are stored. Poor sanitizing lets bacteria survive from one use to the next.
Recorded once on July 29, 2026. For example:
302 - Equipment/utensils/food contact surfaces not properly washed and sanitized [s. 17(2)]
Protecting food from contaminationHigher risk
This covers how food is stored, prepared and displayed: raw meat kept away from ready-to-eat food, food covered and stored off the floor, and nothing dripping or splashing into it. Cross-contamination from raw to cooked food is a direct route for salmonella and E. coli.
Recorded once on July 29, 2026. For example:
209 - Food not protected from contamination [s. 12(a)]

2 infractions
- 302 - Equipment/utensils/food contact surfaces not properly washed and sanitized [s. 17(2)]
- Observation (CORRECTED DURING INSPECTION): 1. The dishwasher did not dispense chlorine during the rinse/sanitize cycle. The dishwasher was run for multiple cycles, and could not detect chlorine using test strips. Operator stated that the dishwasher was tested 2 days ago and there was chlorine detected.
- 2. There was no chlorine sanitizer prepared for food contact surfaces at time of inspection.
- Sanitizer is required to destory any pathogens on the dishware and food contact surfaces.
- Corrective Action(s): 1. Operator primed the sanitizer on the dishwasher, and chlorine was detected at 100ppm. Ensure that the dishwasher is dispensing 50-100ppm chlorine by using test strips and documenting the concentration on a log sheet.
- 2. The operator made new chlorine sanitizer buckets at 200ppm during the inspection. Ensure that the food contact surfaces (front and back of restaurant) are cleaned and sanitized at the beginning and end of the lunch and dinner operating times, and as needed throughout the day.
- Violation Score: 5
- 401 - Adequate handwashing stations not available for employees [s. 21(4)]
- Observation (CORRECTED DURING INSPECTION): The hand sink in the kitchen had a bowl in sink, making it difficult to use. Employees were using the dish sink to wash their hands. The hand sink needs to be designated for only handwashing for employees' easy access.
- Corrective Action(s): Operator removed the bowl. Ensure the hand sink remains clear for only hand washing, and that there is hot water, paper towels, and liquid soap available.
- Violation Score: 5
- 209 - Food not protected from contamination [s. 12(a)]
- Observation (CORRECTED DURING INSPECTION): The spoons for the cooked rice were being stored in cold tap water. Cold tap water cannot effectively maintain 4 degrees Celsius or less to prevent pathogen growth.
- Corrective Action(s): The operator added ice water to the container. Once the ice melts, add new ice to maintain 4 degrees Celsius or less. Ensure all utensils that are continuously used to serve cooked foods are kept in ice water.
- Violation Score: 3
- 306 - Food premises not maintained in a sanitary condition [s. 17(1)]
- Observation: The sides and handles of the equipment (ex: grill line, coolers), the exhaust canopy above the front grill line has food and grease accumulation, which can help pests to survive in the premises.
- Corrective Action(s): Thoroughly clean throughout the premises, including the areas listed above. Date to be corrected by: July 30, 2026
- Violation Score: 3
- 308 - Equipment/utensils/food contact surfaces are not in good working order [s. 16(b)]
- Observation (CORRECTED DURING INSPECTION): The dishwasher was not dispensing chlorine sanitizer after multiple cycles. The drain plug on the side of the dishwasher is also not dropping, so the employees are using the fill button on the machine each time.
- Corrective Action(s): Operator primed the dishwasher, and the chlorine was able to be dispensed at 100 ppm. Repair the machine so it is able to dispense 50-100 ppm chlorine during each cycle.
