- 20. Is reusable equipment disinfected properly?
- Inverness piercing instruments are being disinfected with a low-level disinfectant between use (Allora disinfectant wipes). These wipes are designed for surfaces and not instruments. Obtain a suitable disinfectant for disinfecting instruments/equipment prior to the next piercing service. Examples provided to the operator.

- Alcohol was being used as a surface disinfectant. Alcohol is not a recognized disinfectant. Preempt RTU intermediate level disinfectant was available onsite and is an appropriate surface disinfectant.The piercing station was covered in a layer of dust and did not appear to be cleaned regularly
