    • 20. Is reusable equipment disinfected properly?
      • 70% alcohol is being used to clean pedicure chairs. Alcohol is not appropriate to use on environmental surfaces because it is not considered a disinfectant.Corrective action: At minimum, a low-level disinfectant is required for reusable non-critical equipment. Please ensure that the chemical you are using to clean/disinfect chairs between every client use has a "disinfectant" claim on the label and a drug identification number (DIN) issued by Health Canada. Follow the manufacturer's instructions for use so that you are obtaining an adequate contact time for effective disinfection.
    • 26. Are cosmetic products appropriate for their intended use and being handled properly?
      • Bottles for pedicure products are not labelled to indicate their contents. Corrective action: Please label all bottles with the product name and/or purpose.

    • 02. Has the operator notified the RHA of the existence of a personal service business, including contact and location information, as well as all personal services currently offered or new personal services that will be offered for facilities and/or special events?
      • The facility has not submitted a Personal Services Notification (PSN). The operator was educated on how to submit a PSN and states he will submit one soon. Jan 12, 2024: Operator states he has submitted a PSN, this item will be cleared once the PSN is approved and added to the system.

      • The facility has not submitted a Personal Services Notification (PSN). The operator was educated on how to submit a PSN and states he will submit one soon.
    • 20. Is reusable equipment disinfected properly?
      • The bottle of Pre-empt CS-20 that was being used for disinfecting reusable equipment expired in October of 2023. The bottle was removed during the inspection. The facility had a fresh, unexpired bottle of CS-20 which will be used moving forward. For cleaning the foot basins used for pedicures, the facility uses a low-level disinfectant.
    • 27. Is the facility maintained in a visibly clean state and are environmental surfaces cleaned and disinfected properly?
      • Some of the nail stations have an accumulation of nail dust. Please ensure these areas are cleaned regularly.
