      • Used nail files and buffs were observed in the storage drawers at the manicure stations. All used nail files and buffs were discarded. Ensure single-use items are discarded after use on one client.

      • Several toe separators were observed to be reused and had visible discoloration. All used toe separators were discarded.

      • General disinfectant is not available to disinfection non-critical equipment and surfaces after use. Obtain disinfectant for general surfaces and non-critical equipment.

      • *** Specific written procedures for personal service workers were not available. Such as procedures for cleansing of skin, use of antiseptic products, client care in the event of an accidental skin cut or puncture.Operator didn't have written procedures for preparation of skin, client care (accidental skin cut/puncture). PHI will send templates that can be used to make facility specific written procedures.Nov 22, 2023: The required written procedures were still not observed. Please ensure written procedures as it applies to your operations are created and kept at the facility.
    • 20. Is reusable equipment disinfected properly?
      • Test strips were not available to test high level disinfectant (Preempt CS20) used at the facility and high-level disinfectant testing log was not being kept. Please purchase high level disinfectant test strips, ensure high level disinfectants are tested each day used and records/log kept. A high-level disinfectant log template will be sent with this report.
    • 33. Are general nuisance conditions, other than those noted in other violations, being prevented at this personal services facility (Non-Critical)?
      • Absorbent bedding was being re-used for the waxing bed. The staff was advised to use single-use bedding or use a single use liner on the non-absorbent bed. The staff removed the bedding during inspection. Please note that the waxing bed must be disinfected in-between client use.
