- Update AHS cleansing written template to include products used for lash extension and waxing.
- 10. Is cleansing and antisepsis of skin and mucous membrane performed in accordance to written procedures and are suitable products being used?
- No cleansing step for skin before waxing. Operator noted that baby powder and oil is used. **Ensure there is a cleansing step for skin before waxing. Cleansing wipes or baby wipes will be satisfactory.
- 14. Is single-use or uncleanable equipment being used as intended (Non-Critical)?
- Single use disposable toe separators and flip flops were being washed and disinfected. No indication that these items can be re-used on the manufacturers instruction. **Discard toe separators and flip flops after every use. You may send these homes with clients.
- 20. Is reusable equipment disinfected properly?
- 1. The pass/fail results for the re-use of HLD5 were not recorded every day. **Ensure results are recorded every day for a maximum of 14 days of re-use of the solution. 2. It was noted that the nail station counters were being disinfected with alcohol. **Alcohol is no longer recognized as an approved disinfectant for personal services. At a minimum a low level disinfectant can be used on nail counters and nail drill machine handle as long as the disinfectant has the word "disinfectant" and a drug identification number (DIN). Examples would be Lysol spray or wipes OR you can use Cavicide 1.**INFORMATION PROVIDED TO OPERATOR. 3. Equipment is not being rinsed after soaking in the HLD5. A few rust spots were observed on some nail clippers. **Ensure all equipment is rinsed with potable water after being soaked for a minimum of 5 minutes in the HLD 5 disinfectant. Monitor the rust spots on the nail clipper. Discard when necessary.**INFORMATION PROVIDED TO OPERATOR.
