- 1. Alcohol was used to disinfect semi-critical tools (manicure and pedicure tools). This is not an approved disinfectant because it has no Drug Identification Number. A high level disinfectant like CS20 must be used. 2. CS20 onsite was expired. Operator was educated on the importance of proper instrument disinfection and was asked to obtain new bottle by tomorrow after testing the concentration of the available one.3. Pre-empt RTU on-site was expired. Purchase a new bottle.

Used nail equipment that cannot be cleaned and disinfected right away at the sink needs to be stored in a way that prevents the debris from hardening. Tools should be kept moist so that they are easier to clean and disinfect.

- **CORRECTED**1. A personal services worker replaced the disinfectant in the soak tray with PREempt RTU. The Owner was instructed to replace the RTU with CS20, as RTU is not strong enough for disinfecting reusable nail equipment. 2. The CS20 at the reprocessing sink expired in October 2023. The facility had another bottle on-site with expiry date November 2024.3. When demonstrating the reprocessing steps, the Operator washed the foot file with soap and water and then put the file into the CS20. Proper reprocessing steps were discussed with Operator. 4. There was not enough CS20 is the soak tray. More was added during the inspection to ensure that all surfaces of the tools are covered and could be adequately disinfected. 5. The personal services worker stated they were leaving the PREempt RTU on surfaces for 1 minute and then wiping off. COMPLETE THE FOLLOWING:1. Ensure staff are trained on the correct procedure for cleaning and disinfecting nail equipment. Tools must be washed with soap and water, air dried, then put in CS20 for 20 minutes, and air dried again.2. Leave RTU on surfaces for 3 minutes before wiping off.
