- Some files appeared used were stored at the work benches. Do not reuse files, buffers or pumi bars. These are single use only. Removed during inspection.
- 20. Is reusable equipment disinfected properly?
- Cleaning procedures were satisfactory, but disinfection procedures were out of date. Facility was using 70% alcohol. The following items need to be upgraded to meet current regulatory requirements:1. Preempt RTU or equivalent intermediate-level disinfectant is required for pedicure tubs, electric files and general surfaces. 2. Preempt CS20 or Preempt HLD5 or any equivalent high-level disinfectant is required for all tools, including foot files, implements, and electric filing heads. All tools must be brought back to the cleaning room and disinfected in the following manner:- clean tools with soapy water, scrubbing off any debris- rinse and dry- immerse in disinfectant for the indicated contact time.- rinse tools with clean water- store in a clean dry location3. Electric filing heads must be soaked only in soapy solution if operator chooses to continue this process, and cannot soak in alcohol at the stations. ** please post instructions for cleaning and disinfecting for all staff to observe **
