      • - The facility does not have written procedures for:- Cleansing of skin before waxing.- Client care in the event of an accidental skin cut or puncture.- Please ensure written procedures are developed for cleansing of skin before waxing and client care in the event of an accidental skin cut or puncture.

      • - Alcohol was used to disinfect surfaces and eye lash tools (tweezers)- Use low level disinfectant for surfaces- Use high level disinfectant for semi-critical tools(tweezers)

      • - Pre-empt CS20 used as a disinfectant.- Test strips were expired.- No log available for the high-level disinfectant (Pre-empt CS20).- Manufacturer’s instructions were not being followed for Pre-empt CS20 reuse period. - Follow manufacturer's instruction for use.- Purchase new test strips.- Keep high level disinfectant log with test dates, strip results (pass/fail), and initials of the worker.

      • - Reprocessing sink was used for handwashing with no written procedure.- Handwashing sink should be separate from reprocessing sink. Designate one sink for handwashing and post handwashing sign for staff and client.

      • - Used sharps/blades were stored for disposal in a plastic container with no label, by the reprocessing station.- Sharps container was labelled during the inspection.

      • -Sterility assurance documentation was not available for the needles used for permanent make-up. In addition labelling was inadequate:- No manufacturer's information- No expiry date- No lot #- Packaging was stapled together

      • -The operator has not notified EPH of the business and activities that the business currently offers. Please submit all applicable information to the RHA as soon as possible
    • 03. Are facility-specific written procedures established to adequately describe safe and sanitary practices?
      • -Written procedures were not available for this facility. Please ensure written procedures are developed for: Preparation of Skin and Post-Service Care.
    • 10. Is cleansing and antisepsis of skin and mucous membrane performed in accordance to written procedures and are suitable products being used?
      • - Cleansing of the skin is not being done prior to a service that may involve contact with mucous membrane, or that will puncture or may potentially break skin. Ensure cleansing is done
    • 20. Is reusable equipment disinfected properly?
      • -Manufacturer’s instructions were not being followed for Pre-empt CS20. The product expired in 2022. Ensure that manufacturer’s instructions are followed and new product is purchased.- High level disinfectants are not being tested and verified daily using proper test strips. Ensue the high level disinfectant is tested daily using the test strips specified by the disinfectant manufacturer. Ensure records are kept of: test dates, whether the solution passed/failed, when the disinfectant was changed and the worker’s initials who performed the activity.

      • - Cosmetic products were not labelled with manufacturer’s instructions and ingredients. Please ensure only cosmetic products with a detailed label are available for use. (Ex. numbing cream)
