      • 11/7. Staff was unable to demonstrate knowledge of the proper use of the PreEmpt CS20 disinfectant. Ensure all staff review and follow the manufacturer's instructions for use all disinfectants.

      • 11/7. 1) The facility does not have an adequate amount of storage space in the main service area. Several items (i.e., pedicure basin liners) were stored in a separate room and were not easily accessible. 2) There was no waste bin by the washroom handwashing sink. Obtain waste bin.

      • 11/7. There were used pedicure toe separators observed being stored in a container near the reprocessing sink after use. All items that are labelled as porous single-use items must be discarded after one use on one client. The toe separators were discarded at the time of the inspection.
    • 20. Is reusable equipment disinfected properly?
      • 11/7.1) Semi-critical tools are not being soaked in the PreEmpt CS20 for 20 minutes as per the manufacturer's instructions for use. Staff were directed to soak all tools for a minimum of 20 minutes. 2) There was an unlabeled bottle of disinfectant. The bottle did not have a name, DIN/MDL, or manufacturer's instructions for use. All disinfectants used must be properly labelled and have a DIN/MDL. The unlabeled bottle of disinfectant was discarded at the time of the inspection.

      • 11/7. There were no test strips onsite for the PreEmpt CS20. Obtain test strips.
