      • Facility used the Pre-empt CS20 as High-Level Disinfectant (HLD) for semi critical tools. Testing of HLD was being done on biweekly basis, as observed in the HLD logs.Guidance was provided to test the HLD on daily basis.

    • 03. Are facility-specific written procedures established to adequately describe safe and sanitary practices?
      • Facility specific written procedures for skin cleansing and accidental cuts and punctures were not observed at the facility.Templates for written procedures would be provided with this e-mail.

      • Facility used the Pre-empt CS20 as High-Level Disinfectant (HLD) for semi critical tools. Facility had HLD log sheet, however it was not maintained on daily basis (Last entry was from few months ago).Make sure to restock the HLD and maintain the HLD logs, as discussed.
    • 24. Are waste sharps disposed of properly?
      • The Sharps container was present in the re-processing area, however it was filled beyond the fill line and extra sharps were placed in the open jar nearby.Sharps are considered biohazard and must be stored and disposed of appropriately. Make sure to return the filled sharp container to pharmacy. Handle sharp with care to avoid accidental cuts and punctures.
